Once you have identified a coach for your club embarking on training is the first step.
Potential coaches don't have to go straight onto a sport specific qualification as there are various organisations that run leadership or introductory courses. And leadership courses are a great way to start.
This type of course will allow you to develop a range of skills such as planning, preparing and delivering a session. The awards are often multi sport so a great place to start for anyone interested in getting involved in leading or coaching sport/physical activity.
For more information, please visit 'Sports Leaders' website.
Sport specific Leaders courses are also available through some National Governing Bodies.
