Members are the key to any club. Clubs that are successful and thriving have members who are committed and involved.
This section is all about providing information, advice and tips on how to attract new and retain existing members.
It’s important that clubs offer opportunities for young people as well as adults as these young members play a vital role in providing the long term success and development of clubs. By having a strong base of junior members you are building a strong future for the club.
It’s also important that young people are able to move from participating in sport at school to a more adult environment offering high quality coaching and playing opportunities that helps them progress in their chosen sport. Further information can be found within the Playing Programme section of this site on how a club can make this link with schools.
All clubs are unique and not every club will feel that a junior section is appropriate for them. Club members should discuss this with the club committee before taking it further. There are a number of things to consider before taking this step and you should be comfortable that your club acknowledges and takes on the responsibility of providing and taking charge of young members before taking on a junior section.
