Funding

money2This section offers information on a number of different funding sources that may be worth considering if you have a specific project in mind e.g.

  • purchasing more equipment to increase membership;
  • qualifying more coaches to help deliver a bigger club programme;
  • introducing new sports/activities into your clubhouse to train when it’s not being used e.g. a fitness group, martial arts club;
  • improving community usage;
  • offering opportunities for disabled young people/adults.

Before looking at the various funding sources it may be worth turning to your members in the first instance to see if you can raise the money you need - perhaps through donations, an interest-free loan, car boot sale or sponsorship.

Many clubs hold regular fund-raising events by organising sponsored activities, local celebrity appearances, raffles and/or quiz nights. Certain forms of fund-raising e.g. street collections and private lotteries do need legal consent from the police or your local Council.

If local fundraising does not cover the whole cost of your project, it may be worth looking at the links on the right to see if any fit the bill to help deliver your project. Most of the programmes listed normally require a contribution from the applicant, however, it’s best to check with the organisation for more information.
