Child Protection
As an established club you should have either adopted a child protection policy from your National Governing Body or have developed one of your own. A policy statement should be clearly displayed in within your club, and there should be procedures in place to ensure that the policy is communicated to both staff and members. If you have a website your policy should be accessible through this.
You should also have appointed a ‘Club Welfare Officer’ who should have a clear role description outlining their role and responsibilities and have received the appropriate training to enable them to carry out their role effectively.
If your club has adopted the policy of the NGB check that the guidelines are specific enough and apply for your sport at your club level.
